Annie Choong was born on 20th February 1934 and was a former national athlete who is now 83 years old. She was the first and only female athlete when Malaya made its Olympic debut in the Melbourne Olympic Games in 1956, taking part in the 100m sprint, recording a time of 12.5 sec in her heat.View
Hall of Fame – Since its formation in 1953, the Olympic Council of Malaysia, has formalised a concept called the Hall of Fame. The objective is to honour persons who have devoted themselves and contribted greatly to the development of sports in Malaysia.
First proposed in 1974 by the then Minister of Sports, Hamzah Abu Samah. The main role of the Hall of Fame is to dipict the highlights of the progress of Sports in Malaysia.
