DATO’ SIEH KOK CHI

Y.Bhg. Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi was born on the 8th of November 1938. After his retirement in 1991, as an Engineer in the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia, Dato’ Sieh choose to continue his involvement-full time in the field of sports, where his life-long passion was, especially in the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM). From 1989 till the late 90’s, Dato’ Sieh was also attached to the National Sports Council where he act as the advisor to the institution in the hosting policies and organizing of games. He was a former shining athlete where he represented the country in the sports of Water Polo for more than a decade, both in local and international games. Throughout his services, he had also served in several key positions including as the Secretary for the Selangor Amateur Swimming Association, Swimming Union of Selangor, a council members and as a volunteer for the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) since the 70’s.

From 1992, until 2015 to be exact, Dato’ Sieh is one of the logest serving Secretary General of OCM. Dato’ Sieh also lead the Malaysian contingent as the Chef de Mission (CDM) to the 20th SEA Games in Brunei Darussalam in 1999. With hist vast experience and knowledge, from his early years in sport until today, Dato’ Sieh still actively involves in various sports activities in the country especially competitions organized in Malaysia where his expertise is still required. Currently, Dato’ Sieh is an Honorary Member of the Olympic Council of Malaysia
