Dato’ Yeoh Choo Hock started his profesional career as a Physical Education Teacher from 1968-1971. He was the Malaysia National Coach for Basketball from 1975-1989 and helped Malaysia to win the Gold Medal in 1989 Sea Games held in Kuala Lumpur. He became an active member of the Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA) and held various positions in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and Commonwealth Basketball Federation (CBF). He was the Vice President of both FIBA from 2003-2006 and CBF from 1998-2006. He served as secretary General of MABA for 18 years and then as a Vice President from 2008 until 2011.

He was appointed as one of the IOC Basketball Coaching Panel of Experts from 1987-2006 and as a Technical Commissioner (world level) by FIBA for 4 Olympic Games, namely Barcelona 1992, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.. He was also appointed the Technical Commissioner by Asian Basketball Confederation, for 16 editions of Asian Championships from 1990 to 2002. Dato’ Yeoh Choo Hock is now Secretary General Emeritus of FIBA and Asian Basketball.
