The late Toh Fook Hung represented Malaya in Weightlifting at the Auckland 1950 British Empire Games where he won a gold medal in Bantamweight. He beat his own British two hands military press record to total 655 lb. he’s final pound-ages for the three lifts were 210 lb for the press, 195 lb for the snatch and 270 lb for the clean and jerk. Late Toh Fook Hung, the Penang Goldsmith salesman, then officially become the second-best Bantamweight in the world on the strength of his performance in New Zealand.
