S.A. AZMAN

S.A.Azman was born in Kuala Lumpur in 1963 and educated at Maxwell Secondary School, Kuala Lumpur. After his secondary education he joined Dunlop. He was the nation’s top tennis player form 1958 to 1972.

He represented malaysia in the 3rd Asian Games 1958 at Tokyo and 4th Asian Games 1962 at Jakarta.

S.A. Azman represented Malaysia in the 6 consecutive SEAP Games. In the 1959 SEAP Games he had won the Silver medal for the Mixed Double event. At 1961 SEAP Games, he contributed 2 Silver medals for Men’s Double and Mixed Doubles event. At the 3rd SEAP Games in 1963, he had contributed Bronze medal for the Men;s Team. At the 1967 SEAP Games, together with Radhika Menon, he contributed the second Bronze medal on the Mixed Team event. S.A. Azman then contributed Bronze medal for the Team Event at the 1969 & 1971 SEAP Games.

S.A.Azman also represented Malaysia in the Davis Cup for 13 years, form 1959 to 1972. He was chosen as as “Tennis Player of the Year Awards” for 5 years. Along the way, he also coached tennis profesionally at the royal Selanogr Golf Club in Kuala Lumpur.
