S. PERAMPALAM SARAVANAMUTHU

Mr. S Perampalan was born on 1st May 1934 in Seremban. He is the 8th child of Mr. & Mrs. P. Saravanamuthu in a family of 13 children.

During his school days, he was Vice Captain, athletic champion and represented school in almost every sport. He represented the Selangor Combined Schools in athletics and Hockey. He also played a role as the Secretary of the Selangor Prefects Board.

Besides being a very active hockey player himself, he made a tremendous contributions to Malaysian Sports representing Malaysian at the pre- Asian Games in Jakarta in 1962. He also represented Selangor State Hockey Team, Selangor Goverment Services Sport Council, Selangor Indian Sports council & malaysian Ceylonese  in 1960 to 1968.

As an Official, Perampalan served as Assistant Manager to the Malaysian Hockey Team for number of tournaments. He was also Manager of the Selangor team for the Tun Razak Cup Tournament which won in the 1984 championship. In 1988, he was appointed to be a Chef de Mission to Asian All Star Hockey Team that toured Asian and Africa. His passion towards hockey continued by served as Organizing Secretary or Tresurer for many international tournaments organized by Malaysian Hockey Federation.

Perampalan has been bestowed by the prestigous titles as a recognition to his loyal service to the nation.
