International Selvamuthu Ramasamy represented the country in Taekwondo . he was born on 1st March 1967. Selvamuthu who palyed Taekwondo for Malaysia in 1986 to 1994 is remembered as the first medal won at the Asian Games in Taekwondo where he won a Silver medal in Asian Games 1986, Seoul. He also entitled for the ‘Most Medal Won in Taekwondo (Male) (National/International)’ by Malaysia Book of Records in 2003.

Selvamuthu started his career as an athlete in 1985 where he participated in National Games and won a Gold medal for 12 consecutive years from 1985 to 1996. He took part in four ASEAN Taekwondo Championship where he won bronze in 1986 and 1988, qualified until 3rd round in 1990 and bronze in 1992. Selvamuthu best achievements was when he won the Silver medal at the 1986 Asian Games held in Seoul and Bronze medal at the 1994 Asian Games held in Hiroshima.

At the SEA games level, he did make Malaysia proud by winning a Gold Medal at 1989 SEA Games held in Kuala Lumpur and 1991 SEA Games held in Manila. He also represented Malaysia in World Championship held at Seoul, South Korea in 1989.

He have a qualfication in Phisiotherapy and Sport Injuries and Natioanl Coaching Certificate Taekwondo for level I,II AND III. He joined National Sports Council from 1996 until present as a Fitness Conditioning Trainer for athletes.
