The Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) has selected the famous Malaysian pop group, KRU as winner of the 2015 IOC Trophy – Sport and Innovation.

KRU was founded by three (e) brothers namely Norman, Yusry ansd Edry , who began playing music at a very young age. They have won numerous awards locally ang internationally, including three (3) recognition by Malaysian Book of Records for their achievement.

Besides being a performer, the three (3) brothers formed their own company , KRU Studios, to provide comprehensive range of services related to the media and entertainment industry, specializing in both production and distribution capabilities. Their company is well known for its superior photo-real visual effects and digital audio and video production, which is attributed to its highly trained personnel, cutting edge technology and state of the art equipment. Since 2005, the KRU Studios has expanded it horizons to Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Europe.

As a supporters of the Selangor State Football team, the KRU wrote up a rap song titled “Viva Selangor which caught the team’s attention. Later, the KRU produced another song titled “Merah Kuning” (Red Yellow) which was played at the Stadium wherenever the team is playing.

In 2015, the KRU composed, produced and performed a special song title “Kuasa Juara” (The Power of Champion) for the Malaysian Contingent participating in the 28th SEA Games which was held from 5th to 16th June in Singapore. The song was made as the theme song of Malaysian Contingent for the first time in history. The song has inspired the Malaysian athletes to outdo their best performnace to win 62 Gold, 58 Silver and 66 Bronze medals, which was recorded as the best achievement of the Malaysian Contingent in SEA Games ever, outside of Malaysia.
