The late M.C. Kailasapathy was born in Malacca in a family of Cricketers. Three of his brothers played cricket for the state of Malacca. He first represented Malaya in 1947. Known primaly for his vicious leg spin, he designed the use of the googly. It was said that the speed of his off breaks were faster than the balls bowled by the opening bowlers operating that time. Coaxed out of retirement to play for Negeri Sembilan by his great Raffles College firend and team mate, the Yang di Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, he showed the younger generation of cricketers glimpses of his class. For all his imposing physique and skills, he remains the most respectful and gentlest of men. For his immense contribution to Cricket in the field of education, he was awarded the title of Justice of Peace (JP).
