In 1995, Dato’ Seri Azalina co-founded the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation (WSFFM) to give credence to her belief that sport, with women playing a major role, was an ideal tool for nation building.  In the last 5 years alone, she helped develop the Power Walk manual, the Aerofit Competitions, numerous wellness programme, the 4×4 Women’s Challenge and the National Women’s Games to project women participation in sport. She has been honoured by various international organisations like Women Sports International and the Amsterdam based Women Win for contributions to women’s sport. In 2008, she become the first Malaysian to win the coveted IOC Global Award for World Woman and Sport Trophy.
