Dhabitah Looks Forward To Tokyo

History maker Nur Dhabitah Sabri has inspired many despite being relatively of a young age.

In lighting up the cauldron for the SEA Game 2017 opening ceremony, she displayed tremendous courage in executing it inch perfect, being suspended in air with a tiny cable.

The petite athlete, often mistaken as a kid with her baby face looks is one of the four divers that qualified for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.

Born on 12 July 1999, Nur Dhabitah will make her second appearance at the Olympic after her debut in Rio 2016.

“It was a honour to be chosen to light up the cauldron at the Sea Games in 201,” said Nur Dhabitah

“Though I was jittery, I stayed calm to execute the lighting up if the cauldron and that spurred me to become a more dynamic and confident athlete.”

With the Olympic Games moved to 2021, it also somewhat gave Nur Dhabitah time to reflect on her career.

“The 4 months staying out of the pool was the toughest moment in my life” said the Kuala Lumpur born athlete.

“However, with the respite given for us to return to the pool, we are making full use to return to our form as before”

Nur Dhabitah does not look at finishing on the podium in Tokyo as a mission impossible.

“It is all within ourselves, and in order to reach the panicle we need to work hard especially in training,” she added with confidence.

“We need to follow our heart and not let anything hold us back in order to succeed”

Nur Dhabitah never regretted taking up diving said that, winning any competition adds up to her best moments in her career as a diver.

However at the same time injuries sustained in training and competitions are defined as her nightmares.

“I owe my diving career to my family and they are my best motivators as I look forward toward a fruitful outing in Tokyo 2021.”
