Meeting Re-Establish the OCM Athletes’ Commission

The OCM conducted a meeting to re-establish the OCM Athletes’ Commission on Friday, 29 March 2019, at 10.00 am, at the Training Hall, Level 2C, OCM Indoor Sports Complex. The Meeting was chaired Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin, Secretary General of OCM.

23 out of 56 NSAs affiliated to OCM have nominated their Athletes Representatives as members to the OCM Athletes’ Commission.

Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin explained to all Athletes Representatives the main purpose of the re-establishment and the new Term of Reference for the OCM Athletes’ Commission, which is endorsed by the IOC.

“The new OCM Athletes” Commission will be very inclusive regardless of the type of sports. Each sport/NSA affiliated to OCM is eligible to be represented by two (2) athletes, one (1) male and one (1) female.” added Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin.

All the Athletes Representatives who were present at the Meeting had adopted the new Term of Reference of the OCM Athletes’ Commission unanimously.

Ms. Shalin Zulkifli, national Tenpin Bowling player, Asian Games gold medalist and a member of the women squad who won the gold medal at the World Bowling Championships 2017, was elected as the Interim Chairperson of the OCM Athletes’ Commission.

She is tasked to coordinate the election of Office Bearers of the OCM Athletes’ Commission based on the provisions of the new Term of Reference. The OCM would ensure the election process to be conducted in a transparent manner.
