Minister of Youth and Sports made a courtesy visit to OCM
On 18 July 2020, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Y.B Dato’ Sri Reezal Merican Naina Merican made a courtesy visit to the Olympic Council of Malaysia on the same day of the 193rd OCM Executive Council Meeting.
He was accompanied by the Secretary General, YBhg. Datuk Dr. Waitchalla R.R.V Suppiah.
They were welcomed by the President of OCM, Dato’ Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria and the Executive Board members, namely Dato’ Seri Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi, Dato’ Paduka Mumtaz Jaffar, Dato’ Ong Poh Eng, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Shamala Subramaniam, Tan Sri Mohamad Noor Abdul Rahim, Mr. Mahinda K Vallipuram, Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, Ms. Moira Tan Siew See, Mr. Chan Foong Keong, Mr. Ahmad Feisal Ahmad Tajuddin and Dato’ Amarjit Singh Gill.
On the day itself, the delegates from both Associate and Ordinary members of the National Sports Association, National Sports Council, National Sports Institute and the Athlete’s commission had the opportunity to have a dialogue session with the Minister of Youth and Sports.
“There are six phases in total to go through before the government can fully lift the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) on sports events” said Y.B Dato’ Sri Reezal Merican regarding the process of bringing back the sports phenomena in Malaysia.
“We cannot afford to have a Covid19 sports cluster, I hope everyone will remain patient” added him during the press conference.
