The OCM in collaboration with the Malaysia Judo Federation (MJF) organised the Technical Course for Coaches in Judo (Level 1), from 10 to 14 February 2020, at the Penang Golf Club.
The Course was supported and endorsed by the Olympic Solidarity (OS) and the International Judo Federation (IJF) respectively. It was conducted by Sensei Salim Bougoffa, from the Great Britain, who was appointed by the IJF.
Twenty nine (29) Judo coaches from six (6) affiliate members of the MJF attended the Course.
Both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Course were officiated by Dato’ Ong Poh Eng, Vice President of OCM on 10 February 2020 and 14 February 2020 respectively.
Dato’ Ong Poh Eng in his closing speech thanked the MJF for their collaboration in organizing the Course and congratulated all the participants who had successfully completed the 5-day Course.
“We hope the IJF and the MJF will also provide opportunity for female coaches to participate in their programs including the courses like the Technical Course for Coaches in Judo” added Dato’ Ong Poh Eng.

Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi was born on the 8th of November 1938. After his retirement in 1991, as an Engineer in the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia, Dato’ Sieh chose to continue his involvement, full time, in the field of sports, where his life-long passion was, especially in the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).
Born on 21st March 1949, Y.A.M Tunku Tan Sri Imran is the second son of the late Tuanku Jaafar, an elected monarch of the Negeri Sembilan. Tunku Imran was educated in the UK at the King’s School, Canterbury and studied law at Nottingham University before being called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn, London in 1971 and qualifying as a Barrister at Law.
